This unit functions as the emergency/urgi-care service area for the University Hospital. An attending physician and nursing personnel are available 24 hours, seven days a week. Patients, especially those with chest pain, heart disease and asthma, may access the unit by coming to University Hospital, or by requesting an ambulance to bring them to the Acute Care Receiving Center.
